The healing buff from light armor actually just doesn't work either. Take a look through all the different armors and builds you can choose from and then only use heavy armor because the damage buff you get from light armor doesn't scale faster then the armor growth. There is no reasonable way to make any gear as you level up as the materials are so rare the the skills level so slowly in comparison to your rate of growth that you will just buy gear or find it off mobs. Have fun cutting down literally tens of thousands of trees to level your lumber jacking skill to have a crafting system that is only important end game.
